Frequently Asked Questions

Who can join CLAS?

Any company or business registered with ACRA that operates at least one self-service laundromat (Ordinary Member), or that supplies equipment, consumables, or services to the industry (Associate Member).

How much does membership cost?

A one-off $100 joining fee and $200 annual fee, regardless of how many outlets you operate under the same ACRA entity. Members who register by 31 December 2026 have the joining fee waived.

What does CLAS actually do for members?

CLAS advocates on members' behalf with government agencies like HDB and PUB, sets shared industry standards, and provides a community, marketing channel, and support network for operators.

Is CLAS a regulator?

No. CLAS is an industry association — it represents members' interests and promotes good practice, but does not regulate the industry. Statutory requirements still come from agencies such as SCDF, NEA, PUB and HDB.

Can I join if I only operate one laundromat?

Yes — membership is open regardless of the number of outlets, as long as your business is registered with ACRA.
